Meet the Author
Edlyn Thompson
Edlyn Thompson makes her debut as a Canadian Children’s author with the publishing of 'Hare on the Stair.' This happened during a time of treatment and recovery from an unexpected illness in 2022-2023, when she was inspired to write and share this loving tale that is rooted in her own family tradition. Her Christian upbringing placed an important emphasis on Lent and Easter, and this continues to be a most special time of year for her. Having learned important virtues and principles early in her life through her parents, and grandparents, she has experienced first-hand the powerful impact that kindness, forgiveness, and love can have on the world. This has guided her throughout her life.

The Thompson Family Lenten Tradition
A Hare at the Heart of Lent
In the Thompson household, Lent was marked by a beloved tradition—a rabbit stuffed animal placed at the bottom of the stairs, carrying their Lenten commitments in a basket. Similar to the 'elf on the shelf' during Christmas, this rabbit became a hallmark reminder of the true reason for the season. Inspired by this cherished practice, Canadian Children’s author Edlyn Thompson penned 'Hare on the Stair.'

In 1998, she created her first illustrated book, "Angelo's Christmas Present," followed by a humorous tale titled "The King and his Poopopo Crown."
